I will be showing a selection of recent drawings at the studio of ceramic artist Irja Bodén in Ghent, NY. The Open Studios event takes place on Sat. May 16th and Sun. May 17th. Studio hours are: 11am-6pm.
THE DOUBLE STALL presents….
Ceramics and Drawings by
Irja Bodén and Janice La MottaIrja Bodén is a ceramic artist based in Ghent, New York. The Double Stall is a gallery space situated in her studio, a former horse barn. At the open studio she will debut new works, including tiles and alternative-fired forms addressing environmental and climate concerns. Outside of the studio a large-scale installation will be situated in the former pasture behind the studio.
Janice La Motta has returned to an interest in the fundamental and direct activity of drawing and a desire to work exclusively in black and white. She will present a selection of recent drawings, in oil stick, charcoal and wax, along with a series of small collage works. She lives and maintains a studio in Cold Spring, NY.
The Open Studio will also feature wall constructions by Simon Draper and outdoor sculptures by Douglas Culhane.
We are looking forward to sharing our works as part of the OPEN STUDIO event.
